Chef Bob Presents Gourmet Mushrooms at the 2009 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival

Two Magic Kingdoms

Gourmet Mushrooms' Chef Liaison, Bob Engel, returned for the third year to the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival in Orlando, Florida. Chef Bob is a roving amsbassador from the Kingdom of Fungi, and when he is at Disney he says, "Two Magic Kingdoms meet." Chef Bob presented mushrooms and mushroom lore  the Odyssey -- The Chef's Showplace.

The Festival runs from September through November each year and features celebrity chefs, cooking demonstrations, and boulevards lined with kiosks offering traditional dishes from around the world. Most events are free with admission to the park.

 

Chef Bob's presentations featured recipes with Nebrodini Bianco, the newest mushroom introduced by Gourmet Mushrooms.  Nebrodini Bianco is named after the Nebrodi mountain range on Sicily. In honor of the mushroom's origin, Chef Bob will present a recipe ala Siciliana including tomato, capers, raisins and pine nuts. The recipe is adapted from a tradional recipe for calamari, and will be vegetarian -- no tentacles, but all the flavor!
